Market wrap: VN-Index records third straight positive session 

On Friday, the VN-Index increased for the third straight day, closing up by a half of a percent as investors were motivated by the release of robust Q4 2021 earnings results for many companies. Nevertheless, the VN-Index ended the week down 1.5%. 

* Banks were strong for the second day in a row as VCB (+2.4%), MBB (+5.3%), TCB (+1.9%), BID (+1.4%), CTG (+1.3%) and VIB (+2.5%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers. 

* VHM (+1.0%) advanced for the third consecutive day. Conversely, fellow Vingroup subsidiary VRE (-1.5%) snapped a three-day winning streak. 

* DIG (+7.0%) surged to the daily trading ceiling for the second day in a row; however, it still fell 7.8% for the week. 

* HPG (-1.6%) was the day’s top contributing laggard and finished the week down 6.4%.
