Market wrap: Reopening prospects lift VN-Index, ending two-day losing streak 

The VN-Index ended a two-day losing streak on Thursday, closing up eight tenths of a percent as the market was spurred by the prospects of HCMC’s economy reopening following a long period of strict social distancing restrictions. 

  • Retailer MWG (+6.7%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain. 
  • Airlines VJC (+3.5%) and HVN (+6.9%) jumped on the expectation of domestic flights resuming. 
  • MSN (+2.3%) snapped a four-session losing streak. 
  • Banks VPB (+2.3%), TPB (+4.7%) and TCB (+1.0%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers. 
  • VIC (-0.8%) has dropped 3.9% over the past three days.
