Market wrap: VN-Index ticks up 0.2% on Thursday

The VN-Index ticked up 0.2% (+2.5 pts) on Thursday to close the trading day at 1,282.3. This is the third consecutive day that the index has advanced. Throughout the index, there were 189 gainers, 242 laggards, and 72 stocks were unchanged. Total trading volume decreased to USD935mn compared to the previous trading day.  

* Bank stocks had mixed performances, with VCB (-0.6%), BID (-1.3%), CTG (-0.9%), and MBB (-0.2%) declining, and TCB (+2.7%), VPB (+3.7%), and ACB (+0.6%) gaining. LPB (0.0%) was unchanged.

* In real estate, VIC (+0.4%) edged up as BCM (+2.1%) and SIP (+3.7%) surged. VRE (-1.9%), KDH (-0.4%), and NVL (-1.8%) fell.  

* Significant gainers from other sectors included technology company FPT (+3.04%), rubber producer GVR (+1.2%), milk producer VNM (+1.1%), chemical company DGC (+1.4%), airline HVN (+2.01%), and utility company PGV (+6.96%).  

* Some noteworthy laggards were steel maker HPG (-0.2%), utility company GAS (-0.3%), electrical equipment manufacturer GEX (-2.3%), insurance company BVH (-1.2%), and oil & gas company PLX (-0.5%).
