On Thursday, the VN-Index slipped 0.6% (-7.6 pts) to close the trading day at 1,268.2. For the second consecutive trading day, six of the top-ten stocks dragging down the market belonged to the banks sector and no large-cap stocks in the sector gained. Throughout the index, there were 118 gainers, 285 laggards, and 75 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume increased compared to the previous trading day to USD670.7mn.
* The stocks mentioned above were VCB (-0.99%), MBB (-1.8%), CTG (-0.9%), VPB (-1.1%), BID (-0.5%), and TCB (-0.9%).
* Large-cap real estate stocks VIC (+2.4%) and VHM (+2.9%) jumped as BCM (-0.1%) slid, PDR (-2.5%) and NLG (-2.1%) plunged, and VRE (0.0%) and NVL (0.0%) were unchanged.
* Basic materials stocks performed poorly as GVR (-2.3%), DGC (-1.3%), DCM (-1.5%), and HPG (-0.8%) declined.
