Market wrap: VN-Index slides for fourth consecutive trading day

The VN-Index slid 1.5% (-18.2 pts) on Friday, closing at 1,174.9. This marks the fourth consecutive trading day that the index has lost value.  Large-cap stocks across various sectors experienced losses, with 27 out of the VN30 group declining, while only one recorded a gain, and two remained unchanged. In total, there were 405 laggards, 90 gainers, and 54 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume increased to USD931.1mn.  

* In real estate, VIC (-5.3%), BCM (-4.97%), VRE (-3.2%), NVL (-3.99%), and KDH (-2.9%) plunged. VHM (-0.7%) also posted a loss.

* In banking, BID (+0.5%) gained, VCB (0.0%) was unchanged, and CTG (-3.4%), HDB (-3.3%), MBB (-1.7%), and VIB (-1.9%) were the top decliners.  

* Industrials was the third most lagging sector during the trading day. Construction & building materials company VGC (-3.9%), mechanical & electrical building services company REE (-3.3%), telecom towerco CTR (-5.5%), and plastics company BMP (-7.0%) sharply fell. Logistics company VTP (+1.6%) advanced.  

* Other noteworthy stocks that saw their share prices decrease were technology company FPT (-2.5%), rubber producer GVR (-1.9%), beer maker SAB (-2.8%), securities company SSI (-3.5%), and retailer MWG (-2.4%).
