On Tuesday, the VN-Index slid by 0.9% (-11.9 pts) to close the trading day at 1,205.2. The index’s decline was driven by key large-cap stocks in a variety of sectors, including FPT, VCB, and BCM. Throughout the index, there were 83 gainers, 287 laggards, and 55 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume dropped compared to the previous trading day to USD519.6mn.  

* In the banks sector, VCB (-1.1%), TCB (-0.2%), VPB (-1.1%), MBB (-1.1%), and STB (-1.9%) declined. BID (+0.3%), CTG (+0.2%), and HDB (+0.4%) gained.  

* In real estate, VHM (+3.4%) by far had the most positive impact on the market, while BCM (-4.5%) exerted strong downward pressure. VRE (-1.1%), KDH (-1.8%), KBC (-3.6%), and SIP (-4.4%) also plunged. NVL (+1.9%) surged. 

* The basic materials sector had three of the top-ten stocks negatively affecting the index. These were GVR (-2.4%), HPG (-1.4%), and DGC (-3.2%).  

* Other noteworthy laggards included tech companies FPT (-2.9%) and CMG (-6.9%), utility company GAS (-1.6%), retailer MWG (-2.4%), and beer maker SAB (-0.9%).
