The VN-Index saw a modest decline of 0.1% on Monday to close the trading day at 1,217.1. Most sectors had poor or underwhelming performances, except for financial services, which had the strongest positive impact on the market. Throughout the index, there were 184 gainers, 181 laggards, and 70 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume declined compared to the previous trading day to USD613.9mn.
* HCM (+3.6%), SSI (+1.5%), VCI (+2.2%), and BSI (+3.1%) led the financial services sector.
* In the banks sector, VCB (-0.8%), BID (-0.6%), MBB (-0.4%), and HDB (-0.6%) declined. CTG (+0.6%), ACB (+0.4%), and STB (+0.6%) gained. TCB, VPB, and LPB were unchanged.
* In real estate, VHM (+1.4%) and NVL (+1.4%) surged, while BCM (-1.5%), VIC (-0.4%), and VRE (-0.6%) declined. KBC (-5.9%) plunged.
* Other notable results included gains by utility company GAS (+0.6%), rubber producer GVR (+0.5%), oil & gas company PVD (+0.9%), and jewelry retailer PNJ (+0.6%), as well as declines by milk producer VNM (-0.8%), retailer MWG (-1.7%), oil & gas company PLX (-1.8%), airline VJC (-1.6%), and telecom towerco CTR (-3.5%).
