Market wrap: VN-Index sees marginal decline of 0.1%
The VN-Index saw a marginal decline of 0.1% (-1.3 pts) on Thursday to close the trading day at 1,282.8. The decline follows four consecutive trading days of gains in the index. Throughout the index, there were 171 gainers, 228 laggards, and 87 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume dropped compared to the previous trading day to USD625.5mn.
* The banks sector had mixed performances as five stocks were in the top-ten codes lifting the index, while four were among the top-ten weighing it down. The five gainers were SSB (+4.9%), TCB (+1.6%), CTG (+1.2%), VIB (+0.8%), and LPB (+0.5%). The four decliners were VCB (-0.4%), MBB (-1.4%), BID (-0.6%), and EIB (-1.6%).
* In real estate, VRE (+4.2%), NVL (+2.4%), and PDR (+1.9%) surged. VIC (-0.7%), KDH (-0.3%), and KBC (-0.6%) edged down.
* Notable other gainers were food & beverage conglomerate MSN (+0.7%), technology companies FPT (+0.2%) and CMG (+3.99%), oil & gas company PLX (+0.4%), and jewelry retailer PNJ (+0.8%).
* Noteworthy lagging stocks from other sectors were steel maker HPG (-1.5%), milk producer VNM (-1.5%), rubber producer GVR (-1.3%), utility company GAS (-0.6%), and beer maker SAB (-0.7%).
