The VN-Index gained 1.3% (+15.4 pts) on Monday after declining for four consecutive trading days, closing at 1,190.2. The banking sector led the index, with five stocks among the top ten contributors to the market's positive performance. Throughout the index, there were 374 gainers, 114 laggards, and 59 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume decreased to USD682.6mn.
* Banks BID (+3.6%), CTG (+2.2%), TCB (+1.7%), TPB (+5.4%), and STB (+3.2%) were the sector leaders. MBB (-0.4%) was the only large-cap decliner.
* In real estate, VRE (+5.2%), BCM (+2.1%), NVL (+3.1%), and KBC (+4.1%) surged while VIC (-1.4%) and VHM (-0.1%) fell.
* The financial services sector had a strong performance as SSI (+5.7%), VND (+6.9%), VCI (+5.0%), HCM (+6.6%), FTS (+7.0%), and BSI (+5.8%) jumped.
* Other notable gainers were rubber producer GVR (+2.1%), airline HVN (+5.4%), FPT (+1.2%), chemical company DGC (+1.9%), telecom towerco CTR (+6.95%), and fish exporter VHC (+2.7%).
