Market wrap: VN-Index pulled down 1.1% by diverse group of stocks

The VN-Index was pulled down 1.1% (-12.8 pts) by a diverse group of stocks from different sectors, most notably in banking and real estate. In total, there were 360 laggards, 117 gainers, and 57 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume edged up to USD687.5mn.  

* In real estate, VHM (-3.02%), VIC (-2.4%), BCM (-4.2%), VRE (-2.2%), and NVL (-2.7%) sharply dropped. KDH (0.0%) was unchanged.  

* Banks CTG (-2.5%), BID (-1.4%), MBB (-2.7%), and VCB (-0.6%) were the top decliners in the sector. TCB (+2.1%) and VPB (+0.6%) gained.  

* Stocks that posted losses in other sectors were rubber producer GVR (-3.8%), steel maker HPG (-1.4%), food & beverage conglomerate MSN (-3.3%), GAS (-1.1%), and securities company SSI (-1.7%).  

* Some noteworthy stocks who saw their share prices increase were technology company FPT (+1.8%), retailer MWG (+2.5%), airline HVN (+1.5%), cargo services company SCS (+3.1%), and oil & gas company PLX (+1.01%).
