On Wednesday, the VN-Index inched up 0.9% (+10.5 pts) to close the session at 1,126.4. The banking sector took the lead, with the share price of all large-cap banks gaining except for one. Total trading value increased to USD741.2mn.
* Banks VCB (+0.6%), BID (+0.9%), VPB (+1.3%), CTG (+0.6%), TCB (+1.2%), and MBB (+0.3%) gained while boosting the session. SSB (0.0%) was the only stock in this sector that did not increase.
* In real estate, VIC (0.0%) was unchanged and VHM (-0.1%) had a notable negative effect on the market. BCM (+4.3%) surged and its share price has now gained over 11% in the last two sessions.
* Food & beverage had a strong day, with VNM (+0.6%) edging up, MSN (+1.1%) and SAB (+1.9%) climbing, and VHC (+6.9%) and HAG (+5.9%) soaring.
* GAS (+1.0%) and steel maker HPG (+1.3%) increased while technology company FPT (+0.2%) gained for the seventh consecutive session.
