Market wrap: VN-Index inches down as trading turnover drops

The VN-Index edged down by a tenth of a percent on Thursday as investors exhibited caution and trading turnover on HOSE dropped to VND15.9tn (USD651.6mn). 

* VNM (-2.3%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss. 

* Banks SSB (-4.8%), STB (-3.3%), EIB (-3.9%) and ACB (-1.1%) finished lower. On the other hand, TCB (+3.2%) advanced. 

* Vingroup subsidiaries VHM (-1.3%) and VRE (-2.5%) declined.  

* Oil & gas stocks GAS (+2.9%) and PLX (+3.3%) experienced strong gains.
