The VN-Index fell 1.5% (-19.1 pts) on Friday to close the trading day at 1,261.9. The banks sector contributed the most to the index’s decline. Throughout the index, there were 93 gainers, 364 laggards, and 43 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume jumped to USD1.4bn.
* In the banks sector, VCB (-0.9%), CTG (-2.3%), VPB (-2.7%), BID (-0.6%), and MBB (-2.02%) posted poor performances. ACB (+2.8%) and LPB (+0.9%) gained.
* In real estate, VIC (-1.3%), VHM (-1.9%), BCM (-4.2%), VRE (-3.04%), and KDH (-3.7%) dropped. NVL (+0.4%) was the only large-cap gainer.
* Financial services was another strongly lagging sector. SSI (-3.95%), VND (-2.7%), VCI (-4.1%), HCM (-5.1%), and BSI (-4.7%) plunged.
* Other noteworthy decliners were technology company FPT (-4.1%), utility company GAS (-1.1%), steel maker HPG (-2.03%), retailer MWG (-2.4%), airline VJC (-3.1%), milk producer VNM (-1.5%), and food & beverage conglomerate MSN (-3.03%).
