The VN-Index fell 1.04% (-13.1 pts) on Friday to close the trading day at 1,255.1. Throughout the index, there were 381 laggards, 116 gainers, and 57 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume increased to USD1.0bn.
* The banks sector had six out of the ten stocks exerting the most downward pressure on the index. These were VCB (-1.2%), BID (-1.6%), TCB (-1.7%), MBB (-1.9%), CTG (-1.04%), and ACB (-2.2%). VPB (+0.8%) saw its share price increase.
* In real estate, NVL (+4.6%) posted a strong result and was the only large-cap gaining stock in the sector. VHM (-0.1%) and VIC (-0.1%) edged down while BCM (-1.4%), VRE (-2.4%), and KDH (-2.3%) plunged.
* After gaining 7.0% on Tuesday, rubber producer GVR (-4.8%) has declined by 11.0% in the last three days. A few other noteworthy laggards were GAS (-0.7%), financial services company SSI (-2.3%), food & beverage conglomerate MSN (-2.04%), steel maker HPG (-0.5%), and electronics retailer DGW (-3.04%).
* Some notable gaining stocks were airline HVN (+6.7%), fruit grower HAG (+1.98%), electronics retailer MWG (+0.6%), and fumigation company VFG (+6.9%).
