Market wrap: VN-Index drops in return from holiday 

On Thursday, the VN-Index returned from the holiday by closing down eight-tenths of a percent as the large-cap VN30 Index plunged 1.1% 

* VCB (-2.2%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss. Fellow banks CTG (-2.1%), VPB (-1.8%) and TCB (-1.5%) also finished lower. Conversely, ACB (+2.1%) increased. 

* Food & beverage manufacturers MSN (-3.4%), SAB (-3.1%) and VNM (-2.0%) declined. 

* VIC (-1.5%) and its subsidiary VRE (-1.6%) dropped. 

* Airline HVN (+6.6%) surged and was the day’s top contributing gainer.
