On Monday, the VN-Index dipped 0.4% (-4.4 pts) to close the trading day at 1,250.4. This is the fourth consecutive trading day that the index has declined. In total, there were 112 gainers, 355 laggards, and 81 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume decreased to USD817.1mn.
* The banks sector had a mixed performance, as VCB (0.0%), ACB (0.0%), and VIB (0.0%) were unchanged, VPB (-0.3%) and STB (-2.03%) declined, and BID (+1.2%), CTG (+0.9%), HDB (+2.4%), TCB (+0.7%), and MBB (+0.6%) were among the ten stocks most positively affecting the index.
* In real estate, VHM (+0.1%) was the only large-cap gainer. VIC (-0.2%) posted a marginal loss, NVL (-1.1%) and KDH (-1.8%) fell, and VRE (-4.5%) plunged.
* In food & beverage, conglomerate MSN (0.0%) was unchanged while milk producer VNM (-1.3%) and beer brewer SAB (-1.4%) dropped. Consumer foods producer KDC (+1.6%) had a strong gain.
* Other notable laggards were GAS (-1.4%), technology company FPT (-0.97%), retailers MWG (-1.96%) and FRT (-3.5%), and chemical company DGC (-3.1%). Steel maker HPG (+0.5%), rubber producer GVR (+0.6%), and airline HVN (+1.3%) were bright spots in the market.
