Market wrap: VN-Index declines 1.1% as large-cap stocks drop

In the final trading session of the week, the VN-Index closed at 1,101.7, a decrease of 12.2 points (-1.1%). The market couldn’t sustain its two-day gaining streak as 27 members of the VN30 group fell on selling pressure.  A total of 417 stocks declined, 49 went unchanged, and 148 increased. Total trading volume fell to USD855.1mn.  

* VCB (-2.2%) had the worst impact on the session while fellow banks BID (-1.5%), VPB (-2.3%), and CTG (-0.3%) also declined.  

* After two sessions making significant gains, VIC (-0.9%) and its subsidiaries VHM (-1.4%) and VRE (-1.4%) all dropped.  

* GAS (-1.6%) and HPG (-0.8%) fell, also negatively impacting the session.
