Market wrap: VN-Index advances 1.1% as majority of VN30 gains
The VN-Index finished the week by advancing 1.1% (+12.4 pts) to close at 1,181.5 as most of the stocks in the VN30 group gained. In total, there were 306 gainers, 186 laggards, and 94 stocks that were unchanged. Total trading volume rose to USD602.9mn.
* Real estate and financial services were the poorest performing sectors during the trading day. In real estate, VIC (-0.1%) and VHM (-0.4%) fell while VRE (+1.3%) gained. In financial services, SSI (-0.3%), VND (-0.9%), and BSI (-2.1%) were some of the notable decliners.  
* The banking sector had a strong trading day. BID (+4.95%), VCB (+1.7%), CTG (+3.5%), TCB (+1.6%), MBB (+1.6%), VPB (+1.0%), and ACB (+1.4%) were in the top-ten most contributing stocks to the market’s performance.
* In food & beverage, MSN (+2.1%), SAB (+1.5%), VNM (+0.9%), and HAG (+2.2%) posted gains.  
* Other noteworthy gainers were GAS (+1.9%), rubber producer GVR (+0.95%), steel maker HPG (+0.5%), technology firm FPT (+0.7%), oil & gas company PLX (+1.0%), retailer MWG (+0.4%), and airline HVN (+1.2%).
