Market wrap: Securities tickers help to drive VN-Index to two-week high

On Wednesday, the VN-Index climbed for the third day in a row, closing up by seven-tenths of a percent and hitting a two-week high of 1,213.16 as securities tickers performed strongly.

* CTG (+2.7%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Fellow banks ACB (+1.8%), STB (+2.4%) and TPB (+2.9%) also increased.

* Securities brokerages SSI (+3.5%), VND (+4.9%), HCM (+6.9%) and VCI (+3.5%) recorded strong gains.

* FPT (+3.2%) has jumped nearly 12% over the last five trading sessions.

* VIC (-2.2%) has declined in four out of the last five sessions.
