Market wrap: Real estate stocks lead VN-Index to 1.4% gain

The VN-Index jumped 1.4% on Thursday as the strong performance of the real estate sector helped the index to recover from its loss in the previous trading session. 

* FPT (+5.3%) climbed to a 52-week high and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. 

* Among real estate stocks, DIG (+7.0%) and DXG (+6.9%) surged to the daily trading ceiling. In addition, VHM (+1.6%), VRE (+1.0%), NVL (+5.9%) and NLG (+6.5%) increased. 

* Securities brokerages SSI (+5.3%), VND (+3.6%), VCI (+3.2%) and HCM (+3.1%) posted strong gains. 

* Consumer tickers MSN (+3.2%), VNM (+1.6%) and SAB (+2.3%) finished higher. 

* VIC (-1.2%) was the day’s leading contributing laggard and has declined in three out of the last four days.
