Market wrap: Foreign investors net sell USD36.2mn, VN-Index declines
On Friday, the VN-Index closed down by a half of a percent as foreign investors were net sellers of USD35.3mn and 23 of the large-cap VN30 Index’s components declined. For the week, the VN-Index finished half of a percent higher.
* VHM (-2.3%) fell for its fourth session of the week and was the top contributor to the day’s loss. Parent company VIC (-1.1%) and fellow Vingroup subsidiary VRE (-1.2%) also declined.
* Several banks decreased, led by VCB (-0.9%), BID (-1.3%), CTG (-1.9%), VPB (-1.5%) and STB (-1.4%).
* Steelmaker HPG (-1.3%) has dropped in five out of the last six trading days.
* Chemical manufacturer DGC (+6.3%) gained 13.2% for the week.
* CTR (+6.9%) surged to the daily trading ceiling, hitting a 52-week high.
