- Viettel Global Investment JSC (UPCoM: VGI) is one of the top 30 leading telecommunication companies in the world in terms of number of subscribers (61 million). VGI provides telecom services in nine foreign countries with a total population of over 237 million. 

- VGI is the largest telecom operator in five out of its nine markets (Cambodia, Laos, Timor-Leste, Myanmar and Burundi) and is among the top three telcos in its other markets.

- Despite 19.2% YoY revenue growth in Q1 2023, VGI’s NPAT-MI fell 68.8% YoY. This decline was primarily due to (1) additional provision expense of VND693bn for investment in and receivables from Viettel Myanmar and (2) foreign exchange losses increasing by VND280bn.
