Market wrap: VN-Index surpasses 1,500

On Thursday, the VN-Index jumped 1.3% to close at 1,505 as large-cap stocks rebounded following the VN30 Index’s 1.4% drop in the previous trading session.

*  Steelmaker HPG (+6.8%) soared to the daily trading ceiling and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. 

*  Banks bounced back from their slump on Wednesday, led by VPB (+2.6%), CTG (+1.9%) and MBB (+1.8%). 

*  Real estate players GVR (+2.5%) and NVL (+2.1%) increased. 

*  GAS (+1.3%) advanced for the second day in a row. 

*  On the negative side, SAB (-1.1%) and VJC (-1.1%) were the top two contributing laggards.
