The VN-Index advanced eight tenths of a percent on Thursday to close at a new record high of 1,500.81 as investors continued to focus on purchasing large-cap tickers. 

*  VCB (+2.2%) recorded its fifth straight positive session and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Fellow banks VPB (+1.9%) and SSB (+3.8%) were also among the day’s top contributing gainers. Conversely, BID (-1.5%), TCB (-1.1%) and HDB (-3.0%) were the day’s top three contributing laggards. 

*  In the real estate sector, NVL (+2.4%), GVR (+1.6%), DIG (+7.0%) and PDR (+4.2%) increased. 

*  GEX (+7.0%) surged to the daily trading ceiling but is down 6.7% so far this week.
