Market wrap: VN-Index suffers biggest loss in more than three weeks 

The VN-Index plummeted at the end of trading on Thursday to close down by six tenths of a percent — its biggest single-day loss since September 27 — as investors sold off blue-chip tickers. Notably, the VN30 Index plunged 1%. 

  • Conglomerate VIC (-1.4%) was the day’s top contributing laggard while its subsidiaries VHM (-1.1%) and VRE (-1.1%) also declined. 
  • Several other large-cap stocks fell, including GAS (-2.0%), MSN (-2.0%), VJC (-3.0%), SAB (-2.1%) and VNM (-1.0%). 
  • Banks were mixed as VCB (-1.0%) and VPB (-2.0%) dropped, whereas OCB (+2.9%) and MSB (+2.9%) increased. 
  • Fertilizer manufacturer DPM (+2.8%) has soared 13.2% over the last three days.
