Market wrap: VN-Index slides below 1,500
The VN-Index slid three tenths of a percent to close at 1,498.26 on Thursday. Large-cap stocks continued to decline as the VN30 Index dropped a half of a percent for the second straight day.
* VCB (-1.6%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss. However, most other banks declined, led by BID (-0.7%), CTG (-0.9%) and VPB (-0.8%).
* In the real estate sector, VHM (-1.9%) and NVL (-1.2%) both fell for the second day in a row. Meanwhile, PDR (+4.0%) is up 10.5% so far this week.
* VGC (+6.8%), REE (+7.0%) and BCG (+7.0%) all soared to the trading ceiling.
*Airlines VJC (+2.1%) and HVN (+1.0%) advanced.
