Market wrap: VN-Index sinks as trading turnover tumbles to nearly two-year low

The VN-Index declined three-tenths of a percent on Wednesday as trading turnover on HOSE slumped to a nearly two-year low of USD337.8mn.

* GAS (-1.7%) fell for the second day in a row and was the top contributor to the day’s loss.

* MSN (-2.4%) pulled back following its 3.8% gain on Tuesday.

* HPG (-2.1%) extended its losing streak to four straight sessions.

* Real estate tickers VRE (-2.3%) and BCM (-1.2%) dropped.

* In the banking sector, ACB (-1.4%) and STB (-2.3%) fell. Meanwhile, BID (+0.6%), VIB (+2.3%), CTG (+0.9%) and VCB (+0.3%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers.
