Market wrap: VN-Index sinks as oil & gas tickers continue slide 

The VN-Index tumbled 1.4% on Monday, dropping to its lowest level since January 24 and mirroring other Asia-Pacific markets as uncertainty surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war and high inflation have impacted investor sentiment. 

* GAS (-6.1%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss and has slumped 13.3% over the last three trading sessions. In addition, petroleum distributor PLX (-3.6%) fell for its third straight session. 

* MSN (-4.5%) is down 14.3% since March 9. 

* Steelmaker HPG (-3.8%) is on a three-session losing streak. 

* Fertilizer producers DPM (-6.9%) and DCM (-7.0%) both plunged to the daily trading floor. 

* On the positive side, airlines VJC (+4.7%) and HVN (+1.4%) climbed. Furthermore, banks SHB (+3.8%), EIB (+3.4%), TPB (+1.4%) and STB (+1.4%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers.
