Market wrap: VN-Index rises as VIC ends slump 

The VN-Index climbed six tenths of a percent on Tuesday as investors picked up VIC shares following the conglomerate’s recent slump. 

*  VIC (+2.9%) snapped a three-session losing streak and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. 

*  GVR (+4.5%) posted its third straight positive session. 

*  DIG (+7.0%) rebounded after its 2.4% fall on Monday. 

*  Industrial real estate player BCM (-2.7%) dropped for its fourth consecutive session and was the top contributor among laggards. 

*  In the banking sector, MBB (-1.2%), VPB (-0.7%), HDB (-0.9%), LPB (-1.8%) and SHB (-0.7%) declined. Meanwhile, SSB (+4.2%), BID (+0.9%) and TPB (+1.3%) advanced. 

*  Petroleum distributor PLX (-1.6%) retreated for its third session in a row after hitting a 52-week high on February 24.
