Market wrap: VN-Index recovers, snaps four-session losing streak

The VN-Index closed up by nine-tenths of a percent on Wednesday, snapping a four-session losing streak as trading turnover on HOSE jumped more than 46% from Tuesday’s session to USD417.6mn and 25 of the VN30 Index’s components increased. 

* In the banking sector, VPB (+3.0%), BID (+1.4%), ACB (+2.9%) and TCB (+2.0%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers. One the other hand, STB (-4.3%) and EIB (-5.0%) suffered heavy losses. 

* GAS (+1.4%) ended a three-session losing streak. 

* GVR (+2.5%) and HPG (+1.0%) both advanced for the second day in a row. 

* NVL (-6.7%) plummeted to the daily trading floor for the third straight day.
