Market wrap: VN-Index rallies to end two-session losing streak

After opening Monday in the red, the VN-Index steadily gained on bottom-fishing demand to close up by six-tenths of a percent.

* Oil & gas stocks performed well. GAS (+3.9%) was the day’s top contributing gainer. Additionally, petroleum distributor PLX (+5.3%) snapped a two-session losing streak.

* MWG (+5.7%) rebounded following its 13.2% drop over the previous two sessions.

* Bank stocks were mixed. VCB (-2.4%), TCB (-5.3%), TPB (-6.9%), HDB (-3.1%) and SHB (-2.4%) were among the day’s top contributing decliners. Conversely, BID (+2.7%), CTG (+3.8%), MBB (1.8%) and STB (+1.5%) advanced.

* DGC (+7.0%) and VGC (+7.0%) both jumped to the daily trading ceiling.

* In the real estate sector, NVL (-3.3%) and VRE (-2.3%) declined.
