Market wrap: VN-Index rallies in afternoon trading

After finishing Thursday’s morning session in negative territory, the VN-Index climbed in the afternoon to close up by seven tenths of a percent on strong performances from oil & gas and brokerage tickers. 

* GAS (+2.6%) was the leading contributor to the day’s gain. 

* Banks VCB (+0.8%), CTG (+1.7%) and VPB (+1.1%) increased. 

* Securities brokerages VCI (+6.8%) and HCM (+6.9%) surged to the daily trading ceiling. 

* Industrial real estate players BCM (+4.9%) and GVR (+2.9%) are up 8.0% and 9.4%, respectively, so far this week. 

* Fertilizer manufacturers DPM (+6.4%) and DCM (+6.9%) experienced big gains.
