Market wrap: VN-Index plunges to 21-month low
On Monday, the VN-Index plunged 4.0% to fall to a 21-month low of 1,086.44 as nearly 150 tickers dropped to the daily trading floor. In addition, trading turnover on HOSE was subdued at just USD482.1mn.
* Banks experienced heavy losses, led by VCB (-3.5%), BID (-6.9%), TCB (-6.9%), CTG (-6.9%) and MBB (-6.5%).
* Steelmaker HPG (-6.8%) dropped to a 52-week low.
* MSN (-5.0%) has declined 12.7% over the last four trading sessions.
* VIC (+0.9%) increased for the second consecutive session and was the day’s top contributing gainer.
