On Monday, the VN-Index plunged 4.9% — its biggest single-day loss in more than 15 months — to close at a nearly nine-month low of 1,310.92 as margin calls led to a broad selloff across the market. Notably, 171 stocks on HOSE dropped to the daily trading floor.
* GAS (-6.9%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss.
* Banks were down across the board, led by BID (-6.9%), VPB (-6.9%), TCB (-6.9%) and CTG (-7.0%).
* Large-cap tickers HPG (-7.0%), MSN (-5.9%), GVR (-6.9%), MWG (-7.0%) and VHM (-2.6%) were all among the day’s top 10 contributing decliners.
* On the positive side, industrial real estate developer BCM (+1.3%) increased for its second straight session and was the day’s top contributing gainer.
