Market wrap: VN-Index loses momentum, ends three-day winning streak

The VN-Index fell by a half of a percent on Friday as investors booked profits following the index’s three-day winning streak. Nevertheless, the VN-Index gained 1.1% for the week, marking its seventh consecutive weekly gain. 

* VIC (-1.4%) and its subsidiary VHM (-1.1%) were the day’s top two contributing laggards. 

* VNM (-1.3%) retreated after its 5.7% gain over the previous three days. 

* Other notable large-cap decliners included GAS (-1.1%), VNM (-1.3%) and HPG (-1.5%). 

* MWG (+5.6%) was the day’s top contributing gainer and finished the week up 12.6%.
