Market wrap: VN-Index jumps with 84 tickers hitting daily ceiling

The VN-Index jumped 3.5% on Thursday to close at 1,028.01 as 84 tickers hit the daily trading ceiling.

* Banks surged across the board, led by BID (+6.9%), VCB (+2.4%), CTG (+6.9%), VPB (+6.4%), TCB (+6.8%), MBB (+6.7%), ACB (+6.8%) and SSB (+6.9%).

* MSN (+6.4%) has climbed 14% over the last three days.

* Dairy manufacturer VNM (+3.3%) advanced to a nearly seven-month high.

* NVL (-0.8%) was the day’s top contributing decliner and has fallen in four out of the last five trading days.
