Market wrap: VN-Index jumps to four-week high

On Thursday, the VN-Index jumped 1.4% and hit a four-week high of 1,208.12 as markets in the Asia-Pacific region climbed following the US Federal Reserve’s decision to raise rates by 75 bps to fight inflation. 

* BID (+2.7%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Fellow banks VPB (+2.5%), CTG (+2.2%), STB (+6.1%) and MBB (+2.6%) also increased. 

* VRE (+6.8%) surged to the daily trading ceiling and hit a one-month high. 

* Industrial real estate players BCM (+5.0%) and GVR (+3.7%) posted strong gains. 

* Brewer SAB (+3.2%) advanced to a 16-month high. 

* On the negative side, BVH (-1.0%) was the day’s leading contributing laggard as it retreated following its 5.1% gain on Wednesday.
