The VN-Index jumped 2% on Tuesday as steel stocks surged and bank tickers continued to perform well.

* Steelmakers HPG (+6.9%), HSG (+6.9%) and NKG (+6.9%) all hit the daily trading ceiling.

* Bank tickers VCB (+2.4%), MBB (+4.9%), TCB (+3.2%), CTG (+2.0%) advanced.

* Vingroup subsidiaries VRE (+4.7%) and VHM (+1.4%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers.

* GAS (+1.2%) snapped a two-session losing streak.
