Market wrap: VN-Index increases for second straight day 

On Wednesday, the VN-Index gained four tenths of a percent for the second straight day, but investor sentiment was cautious as trading turnover on HOSE slumped to USD822.4mn — well below the one-month average of USD1.13bn. 

* VCB (+1.7%) bounced back following its 3.7% drop on Tuesday. Fellow banks MBB (+1.6%) and VIB (+1.8%) also increased; however, BID (-1.2%) was the session’s top contributing decliner. 

* GAS (+1.1%) advanced for the second day in a row. 

* Chemical manufacturer DGC (+5.8%) recorded a strong gain. 

* Real estate players BCM (+2.1%), NVL (+1.0%) and DXG (+3.6%) climbed. 

* Airlines HVN (-1.7%) and VJC (-0.7%) decreased.
