Market wrap: VN-Index hits two-month high

The VN-Index climbed nine-tenths of a percent on Monday and hit a two-month high of 1,274.20 as the banking sector experienced strong gains. 

* Banks BID (+4.6%), CTG (+2.8%), MWG (+3.2%), SHB (+6.7%), VPB (+1.5) and HDB (+3.5%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers. 

* MWG (+3.2%) and FPT (+2.8%) both advanced. 

* MSN (+1.2%) increased for the sixth consecutive session. Fellow food & beverage manufacturer SAB (+2.2%) also climbed.
