Market wrap: VN-Index hits three-week high on strong performance from blue chips

The VN-Index advanced four tenths of a percent on Thursday, hitting a three-week high of 1,198.47 as 21 of the large-cap VN30 Index’s components finished higher. 

* MWG (+4.7%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain and has increased 6.8% over the last two days. 

* Food & beverage players MSN (+2.3%) and SAB (+3.2%) climbed. Notably, SAB (+3.2%) is up 6.9% so far this week. 

* Banks CTG (+1.7%), TCB (+1.5%) and ACB (+1.4%) gained. 

* GAS (+1.1%) rose for the third straight day. On the other hand, petroleum distributor PLX (-1.2%) snapped a three-day winning streak. 

* VHM (-1.3%) has dropped in four out of the last five trading sessions.
