Market wrap: VN-Index has sideways session

The VN-Index inched down by less than a tenth of a percent on Tuesday as trading was cautious with the long Tet Holiday approaching.

* CTG (-1.9%) ended a two-session winning streak and was the leading contributor to the day’s loss. Fellow banks TCB (-1.1%) and EIB (-2.4%) also fell.

* VIC (-0.9%) and its subsidiary VHM (-0.9%) both edged down.

* Food & beverage manufacturers SAB (-1.9%) and MSN (-1.1%) fell.

* HVN (-2.4%) pulled back following its 5.3% gain on Monday.

* PLX (+3.8%) jumped to a 16-week high.
