Market wrap: VN-Index falls to 25-month low, NVL extends slump

On Monday, the VN-Index fell 1.4% to a 25-month low of 941.04 with 131 tickers nosediving to the daily trading floor. 

* NVL (-6.9%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss as it dropped to the trading floor for the eighth straight trading day. 

* Banks VPB (-3.7%), MBB (-5.0%), TCB (-2.6%), EIB (-6.8%) and ACB (-2.4%) all declined. Meanwhile, CTG (+1.3%) climbed for the second consecutive session. 

* MWG (-5.5%) and FPT (-2.7%) both decreased. 

* GVR (-6.9%) has tumbled 19.2% over the last three trading days. 

* Food & beverage manufacturers SAB (+3.8%) and MSN (+3.0%) were the day’s top two contributing gainers.
