Market wrap: VN-Index falls for third consecutive session

The VN-Index dropped 1.5% on Tuesday, falling for its third consecutive session despite foreign investors being net buyers of USD78.3mn. 

* HPG (-5.0%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss and has tumbled 6.9% over the last two days. 

* Banks TCB (-5.3%), VPB (-3.6%), MBB (-4.1%), VIB (-5.1%) and HDB (-4.0%) suffered heavy losses. Conversely, CTG (+1.6%) and EIB (+2.1%) increased. 

* GVR (-6.5%) is down 9.5% so far this week. 

* In the real estate sector, NVL (-6.9%) plummeted to the daily trading floor, slumping to a new 52-week low. In addition, VIC (-1.1%) and its subsidiary VRE (-5.7%) both decreased. 

* Dairy manufacturer VNM (+2.2%) was the day’s top contributing gainer.
