Market wrap: VN-Index falls as large caps fall at end of trading

The VN-Index closed down by 1.3% on Monday as many large-cap stocks reversed at the end of trading. Notably, 25 tickers in the VN30 Index finished lower. 

* VIC (-3.2%) and its subsidiary VHM (-2.2%) were the top two contributors to the day’s loss. Conversely, Vingroup subsidiary VRE (+4.2%) snapped a three-session losing streak and was the day’s top contributing gainer. 

* In the banking sector, VPB (-3.0%), CTG (-1.8%) and MBB (-2.4%) fell. 

* Steelmaker HPG (-2.0%) ended a four-session winning streak. 

* GVR (-3.2%) pulled back after gaining 6.8% over the previous four trading days.
