Market wrap: VN-Index extends losing streak to three days, trading turnover slumps

The VN-Index fell six-tenths of a percent on Wednesday, marking its third consecutive negative session as trading turnover on HOSE slumped more than 50% from the previous day to USD316.3mn. 

* Steelmaker HPG (-6.8%) tumbled to the trading floor and was the top contributor to the day’s loss. 

* VIC (-2.1%) and VHM (-2.0%) both declined for the third day in a row. 

* NVL (-6.9%) hit the trading floor for the 15th straight session. 

* Banks BID (+2.6%), CTG (+2.1%), STB (+3.5%) and ACB (+1.5%) increased. On the other hand, VPB (-2.9%) and TPB (-3.1%) decreased.
