Market wrap: VN-Index ends six-session losing streak, finishes week down 5.4%
The VN-Index closed up by seven tenths of a percent on Friday, snapping a six-session losing streak as investors went bargain hunting for large-cap stocks — evidenced by the VN30 Index jumping 1.2%. For the week, the VN-Index fell 5.4%, marking its third straight negative week and biggest weekly loss since July 5 - 9, 2021.
* VCB (+4.8%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Fellow banks VPB (+3.7%), STB (+4.2%), ACB (+2.5%) and CTG (+1.4%) were also among the day’s top contributing gainers.
* GAS (+6.9%) ended a three-day losing streak as it surged to the daily trading ceiling.
* VHM (+1.1%) climbed after falling 12.4% over the previous four sessions.
* Other notable gainers included HPG (+1.0%) and VNM (+1.2%).
* GVR (-3.3%) plummeted 19.8% over the past four days.
* Fertilizer manufacturers DPM (-7.0%) and DCM (-6.9%) both plunged to the trading floor.
