Market wrap: VN-Index ends lower on weaker trading turnover

The VN-Index witnessed a choppy trading session on Thursday with trading liquidity on the HOSE declining to only USD349 million. The index closed with a 0.63% loss due to a late sell-off in large-cap stocks.

* The financials sector was the biggest contributor to the losses in VN-Index, led by declines from BID, VPB, EIB and STB.

* Materials stocks traded in negative territory, including HPG, HSG, DCM, DPM and PHR.

* The consumer sector showed differentiated performances as MSN, PNJ, PTB and HAG gained but SAB, FRT, MWG and VHC dropped.

* Real estate stocks were mixed with gains from KBC, KDH, NVL and VHM and losses from VRE, DXG, PDR and DIG.
