Market wrap: VN-Index ends lower on the last trading day of 2022

The VN-Index dropped 0.22% on Friday due to a late sell-off. By closing out the year at 1,007.09, the index marked a 3.9% loss in December and nearly a 33% decline from the end of 2021.  

* Stocks in the financials sector showed differentiated performances as BID, VCB, MBB and TPB dropped but CTG, EIB, VPB and STB increased.  

* Large-caps in the consumer staples sector, such as SAB, VNM and MSN closed in negative territory but mid-cap names, including HAG, VHC and BAF, performed better.  

* Real estate stocks traded mixed with gains from VHM, VIC, NLG and KBC and declines from NVL, KDH, VRE and VPI.
