Market wrap: VN-Index ended the week with a loss

In line with a negative trend in global stock markets on Friday, the VN-Index closed the last trading day of the week at 1,234.03 for a loss of 0.93%. A majority of stocks trading on the HOSE were sold off, pushing turnover to a moderately high level relative to recent days of USD655mn.

* Most banks, including BID, CTG, EIB, LPB, STB and TCB declined, except for some gains from VCB and VPB.

* Industrials and materials stocks dropped, including GEX, REE, HDG, HPG and HSG.

* Real-estate large-caps traded mixed with gains from VRE, NVL, PDR and losses from VIC, VHM, KDH, DIG and DXG.

* Large-caps in consumer staples out-performed the market with gains from VNM and MSN.
